COTV wants to help you celebrate your successes, tiny or big. Political activist and TV producer Norman Lear once said that “life is made up of small pleasures. Happiness is made up of those tiny successes”. Don’t let your tiny successes pass by unheralded. Send them to Sonya Elliot to be included on this page.
Here’s the Good News from COTV. Last weekend saw two joyous events hosted at our church: Byron Singleton’s Saturday afternoon concert, “Songs of Love and Despair” and the baby shower for Natalie Jeffrey’s little Khloe, held Sunday afternoon. Both events were big successes and congratulations are in order for all of those who helped coordinate these events. Check out our Facebook page for the buzz about these two events.
Also last week came the announcement that Chris Lopez has earned his blue belt in karate at his dojo, Beyond Martial Arts. Good job, Chris!
On Sunday we also learned that our beloved Rev. Sherrie Dobbs Johnson has been appointed
pastor of Galilee United Methodist Church in Englewood, NJ. The appointment will
begin July 1st of this year. While she is sad to leave our faith community as a

Martha Chapman will be the main presenter at a workshop for the Sacred Dance Guild on Sunday, April 25th – come join the dance! No experience necessary. See complete details.
This year’s NYC Crop Walk, a worldwide hunger relief effort, will take place at 2
pm on Sunday, April 25th. Though there has been much interest already, both walkers
and volunteers are still needed. Hope for Our
Neighbors in Need is one of the many
beneficiaries of this program. Interested parties should contact Dwight Campbell.
We also have a new event on the horizon: a trip to Brooklyn Botanical Gardens on Saturday May 8th at 10 am. See if the cherry blossoms are in bloom, walk around the park, and get connected with other COTV members and friends. Then join us for snacks at Louise Fawcett’s home, right across from the Garden. Please confirm your attendance with Glen Hoffs or Martha Chapman by May 6. (Suggested price for entrance to the Garden is $10.)
